Kata Geibl is a distinctive voice in contemporary image-making, working at the intersection of personal narrative, memory, and technological experimentation. Rechnitzer Gallery is applying to Paris Photo with a solo booth presenting the FOAM Talent award-winning artist’s newest series, Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, alongside selected earlier works. The newest series won the Honorable Mention at Images Vevey where it is debuting in September 2026.
Drawing on memories, recurring dreams, and personal relationships, Geibl combines analogue photography, sketches, and AI-generated imagery to explore how unconscious thoughts shape our lives. The project unfolds as a dialogue between imagination, narrative, and emerging technologies, embracing tension between control and algorithmic unpredictability. Poetic and analytical, the work reflects on visual communication in the age of AI while evoking the artist’s childhood and her relationship with her mother.
